Abby Bratt
Quantitative Ecologist
Email: abby@proteus.co.nz
Abby specialises in translating complex ecological data into clear, actionable insights. With a focus on population models and expertise in Bayesian hierarchical techniques, she delivers solutions that are both robust and practical, helping clients develop effective strategies for managing vulnerable species and ecosystems.
She likes to develop modelling frameworks that help clients get the most out of hard-won data. Her work revolves around building models that address the real-life challenges of wildlife monitoring and conservation while ensuring clients can confidently act on the results. She has extensive experience in mark-resight modelling and data integration techniques, skills initially developed during her PhD in quantitative ecology at the University of Washington.
At home, Abby chases around four chickens, Markov, Chain, Monte, and Carlo. All named after a type of statistical algorithm.
