Tim has a passion for problem-solving and helps people to make more informed decisions, communicating complex statistical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. He brings ten-plus years of analytical experience across a wide-range of statistical approaches so that clients better understand and utilise their ecological data. His expertise includes survey design, species-distribution modelling and working with large-scale climate datasets, and the development of Bayesian models for unique use-cases.
Tim previously worked at the British Antarctic Survey, identifying species distributions to inform krill-fishery management in the Southern Ocean. Prior to that he was a post-doctoral researcher and junior lecturer at the University of Washington, working with large, complex datasets to uncover links between marine heatwaves and seabird mass mortality events.
Surprising fact: Tim was once an amateur circus artist, performing hand-balancing and aerial straps.
